Nocturne is a personal-use app that analyzes sleep data from your Eight Sleep mattress and syncs it to Apple Health. This policy explains what data Nocturne accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
Data Nocturne Accesses
Your Eight Sleep Credentials
When you sign in, your email and password are sent directly to Eight Sleep's servers over HTTPS. Nocturne never sees or stores your password anywhere else.
After a successful login, Eight Sleep returns a session token. This token is stored only in your device's encrypted Keychain and is never transmitted to TEK Strategies or any third party.
Sleep Data from Eight Sleep
Nocturne retrieves your nightly sleep metrics (HRV, heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep stages, temperature) from Eight Sleep's API on your behalf.
This data is processed entirely on your device and written directly to Apple Health.
TEK Strategies does not collect, transmit, store, or have access to any of your sleep data.
Apple Health Data
Nocturne requests write access to Apple Health to save your sleep metrics.
Nocturne requests read access to Apple Health solely to detect previously exported entries and avoid creating duplicates.
Health data never leaves your device and is never shared with TEK Strategies or any third party.
Data TEK Strategies Does NOT Collect
TEK Strategies does not operate any servers or backend infrastructure for Nocturne. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, and no user accounts. No personal data of any kind is ever transmitted to TEK Strategies.
Third-Party Services
Nocturne communicates with:
Eight Sleep (auth-api.8slp.net, client-api.8slp.net) — to authenticate your account and retrieve your sleep data. Your use of Eight Sleep's service is governed by Eight Sleep's Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services are used.
Data Retention
All data (session token, app settings) is stored locally on your device. You can delete all data Nocturne has written to Apple Health at any time from Settings → Delete All Nocturne Data from Health. Uninstalling the app removes the session token from the Keychain.
Children's Privacy
Nocturne is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
